Asia - Only Time Will Tell

You're leaving now
It's in your eyes
There's no disguising it
It really comes as no surprise
To find that you planned it all along

I see it now
Becomes so clear
Your insincerity
And me all starry-eyed
You'd think that I would have known by now

Now, sure as the sun will cross the sky
The lie is over
Lost, like the tears that used to tide me over

Chorus:
Only time will tell
One thing is sure
That time will tell
Only time will tell
If you were wrong
The brightest ring around the moon
Will darken when I die

Now sure as the sun will cross the sky
The lying's over
Gone, like the tears that used to tide me over

You're leaving now
It's in your eyes
There's no disguising it
It really comes as no surprise
To find that you planned it all along

Only time will tell
I see it now, become so clear
Only time will tell
Your insincerity
And me all starry-eyed
You'd think that I would have known by now

Now, sure as the sun will cross the sky
The lie is over
Lost, like the tears that used to tide me over

Only time will tell
You're on your own inside your room
Only time will tell
You're claiming victory
You were just using me
And there is no one you can use now
Only time will tell
One thing is sure...

"Only Time Will Tell" is a song by progressive rock/arena rock supergroup Asia. It was the third single from their 1982 eponymous debut. Geoffrey Downes and John Wetton composed the tune. All Music Guide critic Mike DeGagne has remarked, "With three different paces, the result is a vivid blend of progressive undercurrents, multi-layered backdrops, and climbing rock instrumentation, all within AOR's three-minute recipe." The song was a massive commercial success in the U.S. It became the band's second top ten hit on the Hot Mainstream Rock Tracks chart, peaking at number 8. It also peaked at number 17 on the Hot 100 pop chart. The tune had less success in the U.K., although it reached number 54 on the Top 100 Singles chart.
