Mariah Carey - Honey

Ooh, ooh, honey got me hooked on you

Honey, You can have me when you want me
You just simply ask me to be there
And you're the only one who makes me come running
Cause what you got is far beyond compare

And it's just like honey
When your love comes over me
Oh baby, I've got a dependency
Always strung out for another taste of your honey

*Chorus*
It's like honey when it washes over me
You know sugar never ever was so sweet
And I'm dyin for ya, cryin for ya, I adore ya
One hit of your love addicted me
Now I'm strung out on you darlin'
Don't you see every night and day
I can't hardly wait for another taste of honey

Honey I can't describe
How good it feels inside
Honey I can't describe
How good it feels inside

I can't be elusive with you Honey
Cause it's blatant that I'm feeling you
And it's too hard for me to leave abruptly
Cause you're the only thing I wanna do

And it's just like Honey
When your love comes over me
Oh baby, I've got dependency
Always strung out for another
Taste of your honey

*Chorus*
It's like honey when it washes over me
You know sugar never ever was so sweet
And I'm dyin for ya, cryin for ya, I adore ya
One hit of your love addicted me
Now I'm strung out on you darlin'
Don't you see every night and day
I can't hardly wait for another taste of honey

Baby I can hardly wait
Gotta have another taste

Whoa whoa every little thing you do
Whoa whoa honey got me hooked on you

*Chorus*(x3)
It's like honey when it washes over me
You know sugar never ever was so sweet
And I'm dyin for ya, cryin for ya, I adore ya
One hit of your love addicted me
Now I'm strung out on you darlin'
Don't you see every night and day
I can't hardly wait for another taste of honey

"Honey" is the lead single from Mariah Carey's sixth studio album, Butterfly (1997). It was a redefining song in Carey's career, pushing her further into the hip hop scene. "Honey" was acclaimed by music critics, who called Carey's musical transition "genuine". "Honey" was successful in the United States, becoming Carey's third single to debut atop the Billboard Hot 100, setting the record for most singles to debut at number one, a record she held for 23 years, until it was broken by Ariana Grande. It stayed at number one for three consecutive weeks. "Honey" also topped the charts in Canada and reached the top-ten in Australia, New Zealand, Hungary, Poland, Spain, Sweden and the United Kingdom. The song was nominated in two categories at the 40th Annual Grammy Awards, for Best Female R&B Vocal Performance and Best R&B Song. Carey included the song in the setlist of various live shows and future tours, where she would sing both the original and remix versions.
