“House Of Memories” is the tenth song off Panic! at the Disco’s fifth studio album, "Death of a Bachelor". Coinciding perfectly with the title of the album, the song’s dispirited lyrics talk about the realization of how finally being wedded to the one you love, can almost seem worse than being alone. Brendon comes to grips with the fact that the fantasies he once dreamed of, can fall short of what is a reality when it comes to finally settling down or marrying. Brendon and his lover built the foundation of their relationship (the strongest part) on short-lived passion—something that cannot last in the future—so now, he realizes that focusing on their memories of what used to be a perfect life, is causing him to set up unachievable hopes and unrealistic expectations for their future together, thus the “memories [turning] into daydreams.”
