Tove Lo - Cool Girl
You can run free, I won't hold it against ya
You do your thing, never wanted a future
Fuck if I knew how to put it romantic
Speaking my truth, there's no need to panic
No, let's not put a label on it
Let's keep it fun
We don't put a label on it
So we can run free, yeah
I wanna be free like you
I'm a, I'm a, I'm a cool girl, I'm a, I'm a cool girl
Ice cold, I roll my eyes at you, boy
I'm a cool girl, I'm a, I'm a cool girl
Ice cold, I roll my eyes at you, boy
Rules you don't like, but you still wanna keep 'em
Said you want fines for whatever reason
Show we can chill, try and keep it platonic
Now you can't tell if I'm really ironic
No, let's not put a label on it
Let's keep it fun
We don't put a label on it
So we can run free, yeah
I wanna be free like you
I'm a, I'm a, I'm a cool girl, I'm a, I'm a cool girl
Ice cold, I roll my eyes at you, boy
I'm a cool girl, I'm a, I'm a cool girl
Ice cold, I roll my eyes at you, boy
I'm a cool girl, I'm a, I'm a cool girl
Ice cold, I roll my eyes at you, boy
I'm a cool girl, I'm a, I'm a cool girl
Ice cold, I roll my eyes at you, boy
I got fever highs
I got boiling blood
I'm that fire
We could burn together
I'm a, I'm a cool girl, I'm a, I'm a cool girl
Ice cold, I roll my eyes at you, boy
I'm a cool girl, I'm a, I'm a cool girl
Ice cold, I roll my eyes at you, boy
I'm a cool girl, I'm a, I'm a cool girl
Too cool for you
I'm a cool girl, I'm a, I'm a cool girl
I'm a I'm a cool girl, I'm a, I'm a cool girl
Ice cold, I roll my eyes at you, boy
Cool Girl is a song by Swedish recording artist Tove Lo. It was written by Tove with the record production duo The Struts, who also produced the track. "Cool Girl" was released on 4 August 2016 as the lead single from her second studio album, "Lady Wood." "Cool Girl" is a technopop song written by Tove Lo, Ludvig Söderberg, and Jakob Jerlström, with its production handled by the latter two as the production duo The Struts. Lyrically, the song is about an invitation to form a non-traditional and non-monogamous romance, in which the singer describes herself as a "cool girl" interested in an open relationship. According to Lo, the song's main lyrical theme was inspired by a scene from the feature film Gone Girl (2014), where the its titular character (portayed by Rosamund Pike) "goes from being a victim to a psycho."
